Have you tested restoring the backups?

I'm just going to come out and say it, if you have not tested it then you can't depend on it.

We put in a lot of effort to ensure our backups have run, but often negate the task of testing restoration.

A key part of any disaster recovery plan is backups, we must build in the time to test that our recovery processes work.

3-2-1 Backup Strategy

The 3-2-1 approach recommends 3 copies of your data, on 2 different media types of which 1 is stored offsite and read only.
